Basic Instinct
Sharon and Michael
The perfect film for the Esprit Owner
or Enthusiast
Two Esprits, Sharon Stone, Sex, high-speed driving & that famous scene
Released in 1991 and starring Sharon Stone and Michael Douglas, this film is the most notorious for one scene that hit the headlines. Telling the story of a detective investigating the murder of an ex-rock star, with the suspect being a beautiful and rich novelist that just happened to write a book on the murder of an ex-rock star.
Of course it isn't just Sharon and Michael that star, a 1990 Esprit SE is the real star of the film. Seen throughout the film and having a starring role in high-speed chases, in an attempted murder and involved in the death of one of the supporting characters. LEW looks at it's starring role in the film.

Sharon Stone character owns two Esprits, one black, one white. They are first seen as Michael Douglas' character goes to the house to question Stone's character about the murder of her boyfriend.

Later in the film, Douglas character is watching the house and follows the black Esprit as it leaves the house.

Driving on a mountain road, the Esprit starts to aggressively overtake. Douglas tries to keep up.

After nearly hitting a truck head on, Douglas loses the Esprit. After driving around a little he spots the Esprit outside a house belonging to a convicted murder. Not hard to spot an Esprit really!

Douglas keeps watch on the house until Stone appears. He then follows the Esprit through the streets of San Franscio.

Again the Esprit is suddenly driven aggressively and Douglas loses it again at a set of lights.

Later in the film Stone visits Douglas' apartment in the Esprit. This is only a short scene, but you get to see the Esprit from a couple of different angles

Toward the end of the film Douglas' character leaves a cafe, as he walks towards his car, the black Esprit is seen.

Driven hard towards Douglas, it hits him and he is sent over the top. Landing on the road the Esprit stops.

Manages to get into reverse first time! and tries to run him down again. Missing the fast recovering Douglas, the Esprit Drives off.

Jumping into his car, Douglas chases the Esprit through San Franscio, finally ending up playing chicken on a bridge that's under construction.

The Esprit driver chicken's out the runs off the side of the bridge

Hitting nose first and spraying fibre-glass everywhere the Esprit ends up upside down and smoking.

Douglas pulls out Stones' dead girlfriend (yes, there's some
lesbian stuff too!) and you eventually see the Esprit taken away.
Not too worry, Stone has another Esprit to use and the white one is seen
briefly.
