You can now get a certificate of provenance from Lotus Cars Ltd and we are happy to bring this service to Esprit owners. This has been available for a while and some LEF members have already received theres, so join the party ;-) The certificates cost £35 which includes covering letter and postage. This will detail original colours and trim, specification, build date and engine numbers etc. They can then also add where your car comes in the production list (only included if it is in the first/last 50 cars of that particular model).See more about it here

Lotus are allegedly prepared to close their excellent trim shop, which LEW have used to trim our seats and centre consol. We have seen brilliant work by the staff there and met many during a factory visit. ClubLotus Track Day
CASTLE COMBE – MAY 29TH
Don’t forget that ClubLotus popular annual Club Track Day at Castle Combe is on Saturday May 29th. Track driving packages are only £87 which guarantees you a minimum of two 15 minute sessions on the exhilarating 1.85 mile Wiltshire track. The track opens at 9am and when the guaranteed sessions are finished – usually by early afternoon – you’re free to go out again as often as you like until the track closes at 5pm. Passengers are welcome and you can also share your car with another driver at no extra charge. Free instruction is available from the regular ARDS qualified Castle Combe instructors and there is full marshalling and medical facilities. Only Lotus cars are allowed on track and good driving standards and safety are our prime aim.All drivers will receive a full circuit briefing before going out and helmet hire is free (against a fully refundable deposit) if you don’t have your own. All cars must comply with the circuit noise limit of 100dB and run on road tyres. Fast circuit rides will be available in a variety of Elise Trophy race cars in exchange for a £25 donation to our regular charity The Teenage Cancer Trust. Entry for spectators is free and all visitors who arrive in a Lotus can take part in the free track parades at lunchtime. There will also be a historic Lotus display and track demonstration during the day. Track driving packages are limited so please book early. Esprit Insurance
That time of year again
LEW's Esprit has just been reinsured with Classicline Insurance with a 5,000 mile allowance and an Agreed Valution. On giving our current mileage we found we only managed 600 miles last year. Now the snow is gone and the weather is improving, the Event are on their way. Remember this year ClubLotus big event has moved from Donington to the Malvern Three Counties Showground near Malvern, Worcestershire, WR13 6NW and will be on Saturday 17th April to Sunday 18th. for the first time a very special exhibition on Lotus was presented on the 2009 Essen Motor Show with the support of Clive Chapman and Olav Glasius, the president of Lotus Club Holland. Very great job. Surely you have known from the press the MEMORY OF JIM CLARK will take place in the usual shape from 16th to 18th April 2010 at Hockenheim.From 2011 on it will be re-named into JIM CLARK REVIVAL. For this reason I have expressed my preparedness for the job of the Lotus organizer at the MEMORY OF JIM CLARK event next year. In January 2010 I will publish all the informations on my website of Lotus Historic Register Germany.
I am already looking forward to welcome all friends of Lotus at Hockenheim again.

The Factory frolic is underway way with around 30 Esprit on a run from Dunston Hall to Cromer for some fish and chips by the sea. Tonight is the charity auction along with food and drink and then an early start to get to the factory tomorrow. A few laps around the Lotus Track and a drive in an Evora should make an enjoyable day..

The Lotus Forums 'Factory Frolic'
17th-18th October 2009
This year the Lotus forums are coming together for a supermeet; Esprit, 2Eleven and Evora with 250 people attending a weekend extravaganza in Norfolk.The plan is:
Saturday 17th October - Visit the hotel which is about 4 miles from the factory, check in and freshen up ready for a huge fund raising visit to Cromer on the north Norfolk coast where we'll rattle tins and be met by local radio/papers etc. After this we'll return to the hotel for evening grub in our exclusive 250 person marquee for the charity auction, raffle, fun and games. Bar's open 'til late.
Sunday 18th October - En masse 150+ Lotus convoy to the Lotus Factory where we'll enjoy a great day. Events will include; Track 'parade' laps in your car, road drive in an Evora (every person can have a go!), Factory Tours, shop visit, ASO auto jumble, styling talks from Russell Carr/Steve Crijns, technical talks from Rob Savin/Roger Becker, Evora track demonstration laps, Classic Team Lotus cars, Evora development story, Lotus product displays, Lotus Sport and more. Lunch will be included and there will be beauticians on site to offer treatments to those not quite so interested in the cars, a family event! Goodie bags for all attendees and more!
The 4* luxury hotel is offering a huge discount on rooms, it's a beautiful venue and I'll post details for the reservations number and codes shortly, we've even negotiated 10% off the bar prices!!!
Tickets will be offered firstly to those who wish to attend the whole weekend and are limited in numbers. If they don't have enough weekend attendees then we'll offer Sunday only tickets but this is unlikely.
