Site Maintenance
LEW gets a service
Having now been running for nearly 7 year and with well over a thousand pages, the site is in need of a bit of a service. We'll be performing maintenance on the site over the coming months to make it more streamlined. This isn't a redesign, so you shouldn't notice much of a change. Esprit4Sale and ClubEsprit sites will undergo this maintenance.

News from Hethel
What Lotus are up to in 2008
Lotus currently have lots of problems with parts supply. Many suppliers in the UK are disappearing. They think the Rover disaster was the main reason. It seems many could not survive long term without the Rover contracts. Lotus used many UK Companies that also supplied Rover and they are now finding out that they are no longer in business so they have to find and approve new suppliers. In many cases they have to fund new tooling as the original equipment 'disappeared' during the closing down period.

The 'Suspension Exercise' for the early Esprits is still going on, but no date as been set for a release.

Both Lotus V8s passed their MOT so they will be continuing supporting the Engineering work in 2008.

The Aftersales Department has been very busy organising the return of the Service Parts Store to Hethel from Bristol (a load made lighter by Esprit owners visiting the Bristol Sale). All the Service Parts should be removed from Bristol over the next couple of months. A new storage area has been created on site at Hethel.

All the engineering work is complete on the poly bushes for the front suspenson for the Esprit. Once ordering and supplier lead time has been finalised should be available for purchase.

Jim Clark Revival
24th-27th April 2008 at Hockenheimring, Germany
In the course of the fourth issue of the Jim Clark Revival from 24th to 27th April 2008 at Hockenheimring our traditional International Lotus Meeting will take place once again.

This time the event will be very specially marked by the memory of the Scottish Formula 1 World Champion Jim Clark, who died in Hockenheim 40 years ago. One of the highlights of the weekend will be another Guiness world record attempt taking place on the Grand Prix Circuit, which this time will boast a second record: With Lotus cars of all series we will try to beat the Brands Hatch record of January 28th 2007 where 313 Lotus cars where on the track.

For this intention, which got the thumbs up of Ronny G. Bredhauer, organisation chief of the Jim Clark Revival, I sincerely like to invite all Lotus-Clubs and all Lotus friends to Hockenheim to take part in this unique event to make it a success.
